Our club history
In 1985, under the sponsorship of the Boulder Rotary Club, the Boulder Valley Rotary Club received its charter from Rotary International with 26 charter members at the University of Colorado Memorial Center. Club meetings were set for Tuesdays at noon and the Holiday Inn on 28th Street was the Club’s first home. The club still meets on Tuesdays at noon, at Williams Village Center, 500 30th Street, Boulder.
Today, BVRC has approximately 70 members representing a wide variety of vocations and has raised more than $350,000 for local and global charitable organizations. The Club has participated in world service projects in 12 countries; has sponsored exchange students to several countries; and has served as host for one year periods to high school students from France, Norway, Sweden, Romania, Argentina, Spain, and Brazil.
Over the last few years, Boulder Valley Beer Fest has become an annual tradition of our club, and takes place in conjunction with the town of Superior’s Chili Festival during the month of September. Over 20 breweries participate in the event, offering unlimited free tastings to patrons, and a variety of live music acts offer their talent to set the mood for a fun summer get together for the whole family.
